Ugg!
The last couple of weeks in New York, we’ve had a mix of autumn and Indian summer weather: chilly in the morning and sunny and warm in the afternoons. It’s that pesky time of year that cries out for a whole “transitional” wardrobe, like crisp white shirts worn with cardigans that get removed during the day and put back on in the evening, and wool skirts worn with bare legs and open-toe shoes. It’s a little confusing, admittedly.
But that’s no excuse for the look I’m starting to see again around the city: short skirts worn with Uggs. No, no, no! I can’t take it any more. Didn’t everyone get the memo — like at least nine months ago? I confess, no matter how comfy I’m told they are, I just could never ever get myself to wear Uggs. (Pairing them with a short skirt is like adding insult to injury, to boot.) Two and a half years ago, at the height of their ugly-cute popularity, I suppose they were marginally acceptable, in a Kate Hudson-Mischa Barton-Sienna Miller kind of way. But now? Unless you’re channeling Grizzly Adams, please, no more! Ugg… ugh!

I have never understood the reason why some women love Uggs and Mukluks. I think they are the most un-feminine shoes on earth
