Down for the Count
I’ve just done something unthinkable, taboo, foolish — something I promised myself I would never, ever do, no matter how OCD I was feeling.
I counted my Laineys.
That’s up there with counting all your past boyfriends. Do you really want to think about all the time you wasted on your exes? Not that thinking about how much money I’ve spent on Laineys would be adding up money wasted — oh god no! But ignorance is bliss (it’s like don’t ask, don’t tell). It allows me to continue shopping. It makes me unblamable.
Other things I should never count:
- Number of Prada shoes. (I’ve tried to diversify, I really have.)
- Number of Louboutins.
- Number of black slingbacks.
- Number of jeans.
- Number of bad boys I knew deep down I never should have liked.
I admit it, I do know the ballpark of those numbers, but once you take an exact tally, you can never go back. So now I know that I own 45 pieces of Lainey. What can I say but wow?! Or, um, oops?!

Hi, I’ve lurked in your blog since last July but have never commented - I just wanted you to know (though why, *I* don’t know) that while I could never wear your shoes (foot problems), I still adore looking at them.
In fact (and this is probably a bit obsessive), I’ve saved every picture of your shoes you’ve posted. If I were less technically challenged, I’d make a wallpaper of them. After all, a beautiful shoe is a work of art and should be admired! Your blog (and shoes) make my day better.

Um, I might have sounded just a wee bit stalkerish which was really not my intention. Whups?
