Ann, thank you for the nice note! I think your move has created an opportunity for you to find some cool new local designers... or open your own boutique! How fun would that be?!

And Kate- I've been going to Top Service (845 Seventh Ave @ 55th), and my saleswoman at Bergdorf's recommends Shoe Service Plus (15 W. 55th St. b/t 5th and 6th). Good luck!!

Where do you go in NYC for shoe repairs? I just moved here and need to find a good cobbler desperately. A good tailor, too, if you have one, but my shoes get first priority in terms of emergency care.

Hey Julie -

You go girl! I just finished reading Some Like It Haute and I LOVED it. A friend knew I was in desperate need of some good chick lit with with wit and she came to the rescue with your book. What a wonderful treat!

I'm an ex New Yorker who went from Upper West to Middle East. ( I now live in Caesarea, Israel). I gave up a career in interior design and found myself writing about food (first book was published 2 years ago - Pomegranates -cookbook full of pommie recipes). And with a fabulous life, new gorgeous house bordering the golf course, new groomer for my shihs tzus, and a great web site (www.planet-pomegrante.com but I haven't updated it for ages) life couldn't be more perfect, right? Wrong. There's no damn place to shop in this country!

Ah, for the sales at Bergdorfs! How I long for a weekend at Woodbury Common! Just one more trip to Bloomies to get my fix. Seriously, the only thing I really miss about NYC is the shopping (but please don't pass that message on to my family and friends there).

So thank you for bringing me back home - you put a smile on my face and I feel once again that I have the strength to tackle another box that has to be unpacked or deal with another house worker asking for yet another cup of coffee.

With best wishes for your continued success,
Ann Kleinberg
P.S. My dogs names are: Bruno, Malgi and Coco!
