My Awful New Shoe Diet
In the spirit of newlywed compromise and peaceful coexistence, I’ve been working really hard at keeping my shopping sprees under control. But in these arctic days of February, it’s hard not to start thinking about my spring wardrobe… open toe shoes… strappy sandals… espadrilles and slides…
So while I rack my brain trying to figure out how to keep the peace and still look cute this spring, I might as well make my list and check it twice.
I know I already have the Fendi B boots, but I think I really need the raffia open toe pumps too. I also love these Prada crisscross slingbacks… the crisscross actually reminds me of the croc ones I got last year… I guess I love variations on the same theme!
Wow, these handpainted lizardskin Valentino d’Orsays are sick! The price is sick, too: $995. Yikes. I guess I could settle for the plain old leather version, at a mere $495. The sacrifices I make!
And I can top that, too. Instead of buying these Prada patent-trimmed espadrilles for $490, I can buy these J.Crew grosgrain-trimmed espadrilles (I’m loving the “botanical green” suede) for a mere $128. I never liked that big ol’ Prada logo embroidered on the heel anyway. Am I a good wife or what?!

I feel for you, I do. I have given up shopping altogether for a few months, in the name of co-habiting harmony. The things we do for our men!
